Lexmark provides relief supplies to Lexmark employees in Puerto Rico.
As Puerto Rico continues to struggle to recover from Hurricane Maria, local Lexmark employees have received welcome relief from fellow colleagues.
Along with donations from Coral Gables employees, the company sent money to purchase and ship supplies requested by Lexmark employees and contractors affected by the hurricane. The storm, which hit the island in September, had left most of Puerto Rico’s 3.4 million residents without electricity and water and destroyed thousands of homes.
The Lexmark Coral Gables office coordinated the relief effort, purchasing and boxing the items such as batteries, canned food and diapers. Shortly after the storm, our 15 employees and contractors in Puerto Rico each received three 70-pound boxes of supplies from Lexmark.
“We want to thank our Coral Gables employees for their selflessness and immense support to donate goods and their time, and we greatly appreciate Lexmark leadership for supporting us to achieve our goal of helping all Lexmark families affected by the hurricane,” said Adriana Penuela, HR business partner, Latin America. “It’s wonderful to see how we come together to support each other and our communities in times of need. We truly live by our values.”
