Rising demand for the companies industrial inkjet cartridges is driving the project.
Fujifilm Dimatix is to undergo a 10,000-square-foot, $2.5 million (€2.1 million) expansion of its facilities in Lebanon, New Hampshire, as demand for the company’s industrial inkjet cartridges escalates around the world, reports Valley News.
The expansion is a response to the expectation that the company will need to hire hundreds of additional workers in the coming years to cope with worldwide demand. 150 new employees have joined over the previous two years, and Fujifilm Dimatix now employs nearly 500 people in the city, making it Lebanon’s second-largest manufacturer.
Jeff Horten, Vice President of operations at the company, said it was “experiencing significant growth and bursting at the seams,” and predicted that if the current rate of expansion continues, the workforce “could easily grow to 700 to 800 people over the next five years.”
The company’s premises currently span four buildings, across 98,300 square-feet.
