The Midwest Athletics and Sports Alliance has accused the OE of infringing 20 different patents related to scanning and printing.
As WIPR reports, Xerox has been slapped with a patent lawsuit by the youth sports alliance, which filed its claim at the US District Court for the District of Nebraska on 13 December 2017, accusing Xerox of infringing 20 patents related to printing and scanning. Among them are patent numbers 6,203,005 and 6,305,684.
The OEM was accused of infringing the patents “through the sale of a range of printers, including its WorkCentre, VersaLink, Phaser, iGen, Brenva, ColourQube and Colour brands” as well as through the sale of software.
“As a result of defendant’s unlawful activities, MASA has suffered and will continue to suffer irreparable harm for which there is no adequate remedy at law,” it claimed.
The alliance is seeking “preliminary and permanent injunctive relief, damages, and a jury trial”, with the case being assigned to District Judge Robert Rossiter.
