Bulgaria forms industry association
On 19-20 February 2005 the first of a series of ReFortunEast Seminars took place in the conference halls of the Princess Hotel in Sofia. The organisers of the event were ReFortunEast magazine, RechargEast Magazine and Aydany Consulting Ltd. These seminars have been sponsored by Oasis Imaging Products-USA, TNC-Bulgaria and Color Imaging.
The main aims of the ReFortunEast Seminars are to –
· Establish who is who in the remanufacturing industry in CEE (Central and Eastern Europe)
· Organise educational and qualification seminars for the local representatives of the industry
· Discuss the opportunities for forming local associations to protect the interests of the industry
· Allow local industry representatives to share their problems and discuss useful solutions
· Provide the opportunity for sponsors and guests to get acquainted with the country concerned
This event was free for the participants and foreign sponsors and guests were provided with translators. Both the numbers of participants and their enthusiasm exceeded the expectations of the organisers.
The seminars opened with a greeting from the Marketing Manager Ms. Silvena Dencheva then following the official opening, the participants were given the opportunity to attend both seminar halls, where educational seminars took place. Some of the most interesting themes were six Training sessions in the remanufacturing of different kinds of cartridges, perspectives on the consumables market in Bulgaria, trends on the copier machines market and a session on prices, quality, suppliers and personnel.
There was also a discussion about establishing a Bulgarian remanufacturing association. There were many arguments and different opinions were offered. This was not surprising at all, with many who know Bulgaria asserting that Bulgarian people have hot blood and prefer loud discussions. However, the consequence of the discussions were that not only did the remanufacturing industry of Bulgaria prove its maturity, but members have joined together to form their own Association, called “Bulgarian Industrial Association of Toner and Ink” –BIATI for short.
The next “ReFortunEast Seminar” will be in Romania on 16-17April 2005. For more information and registration on these events, please visit www.refortuneast.com.
