Remax 2009 supports thriving remanufacturing industry

Apr 30, 2009

Remanufacturing is enjoying a boom due to economic crisis

Over 5,200 visitors from all over the world made their way to Remax in Düsseldorf. The visitor profile builds on a strategic marketing plan that focuses on the quality of visitors rather than the quantity that attend an event. “There is a fundamental shift in the needs and values of the Remax community of visitors and exhibitors. The number of visitors is no longer the decisive factor for the success of an event but rather the significance, purchasing power and, therefore, the quality of the visitors. Remax will continue to focus and build on these values. The exhibitors share our assessment and are pleased with the business they did at Remax”, said David Connett, Managing Director of Recycler Publishing & Events Ltd, Organisers of Remax events for the toner and inkjet remanufacturing and recycling industry, on the last day of Remax. The total number of visitors remained stable compared to the year before. After Germany, the top five nations attending were Great Britain, Italy, France, The Netherlands and Poland.

“This year we saw over 2,700 companies visiting Remax, up over 12% on 2008. However the number of visitors per company reduces to 1.9 visitors per company, down from 2.7 in 2008, reflecting the current economic situation and the emphasis on managing overhead. Remax visitors have a strong interest and pay great attention to the products and services at Remax. The mood is very good and, given the difficult economic climate, we are pleased that Remax is a success”, said Stefanie Unland, General Manager of Recycler Publishing & Events.

Over three quarters of the exhibitors said they were satisfied with the results of their business at Remax. On the visitor side, the average was actually significantly higher. Moreover, both exhibitors and visitors are also taking a very positive view of remanufacturing in the current economic climate.

Altogether there were 178 exhibitors and 5204 visitors representing over 2700 companies who participated in Remax. Total floor space was 9,000m2 (97,000 sq ft).

Remax 2010 and beyond

Remax 2010 will be held in Frankfurt, Germany from 30 January – 2 February 2010 in Hall 4.0 at the Messe Frankfurt in parallel with Paperworld, providing the Remax focus, the widest possible audience as part of a world class event.

Remax will continue its primary focus on providing the global toner and inkjet remanufacturing and recycling industry with the widest possible range of opportunities in the global market. Recognising that remanufacturing is a major revenue stream within the office products industry and there are major synergies with other channels, the challenge is to lever in as many synergies as possible to deliver a world class event that reflects the demand for remanufactured products, supplies and services. The Remax audience is very proactive in other channels and continues to open up wider solutions for today’s discerning office products market.
