SMEs are fastest growing sector in MPS market says Photizo study

Small to medium enterprises (SMEs) are showing rapid progress of the managed print services (MPS) market, according to Photizo research.

The MPS Decision Maker Tracker study found that in Germany and the UK, over half the MPS opportunity is with SMEs, and over 40 percent in France.

The US, which has a slightly more mature market, has an even greater penetration and growth of MPS into SMEs. However, it is expected to rapidly catch up because the MPS ecosystem evolves in Europe.

“While large organizations have certainly embraced MPS, it would be a mistake to assume SMEs are not going in that direction as well. In fact, it is quite the opposite, according to our ongoing field research,” said Ed Crowley, CEO and Senior Partner of the Photizo Group.

According to Crowley, the various geographic markets should be looked at individually as the spectrum of MPS involvement varies. “While IT spending has declined, one can’t draw the conclusion that MPS adoption is also dropping. There are many factors to consider when building an accurate picture of the MPS marketplace,” he said.

The MPS Decision Maker Tracker has been running for three years and is reportedly the only ongoing measurement of MPS decision makers’ actions and MPS engagements.
