Rick Greenlaw, Vice President of Marketing, said: “In the final toner mix, the non-oil ingredients will reduce the final bio content but it is expected to exceed that of all other brands.”
SoyPrint uses oil from soybean crops in place of the petroleum based oil found in toner, reducing the use of non-renewable resources. The new second generation has been certified as having 100 percent bio content after testing by Beta Labs.
As reported by the Recycler, PRC has continued to secure licenses for production around the world, most recently including Asia and South America.
All soy for SoyPrint is produced in the US, while licensees will produce the cartridges, saving on energy and costs for transport.
Greenlaw says the product’s strong green credentials have garnered a lot of interest, especially with colleges and banks, as well as businesses. The company is also working on a soy-based inkjet product called SoyJet.
The August issue of The Recycler magazine will feature a profile on SoyPrint as well as Rick Greenlaw’s views on the health of the American remanufacturing industry.
