Last night’s Gadget Show, on Channel Five, tested print outs from 10 photo printers by HP, Canon, Brother, Kodak and Lexmark and picked the best five. Click play below to watch the clip.

Cost per print varied between £1.58 and 52p, whereas in the same experiment in 2009, it was between 76p and 55p. Although the lowest cost per print fell by five percent, the highest shot up 108 percent.

The Kodak ESP 3250 came out top with a print quality the show’s print expert John Bentley was happy with.

In fifth place, the Epson Stylus Photo PX810FW produced 30 prints at £1.58, however Bentley said the printer produced a high quality print out.
