UK collector EmptyCartridge Recycling Limited expands

Oct 21, 2010

Milton Keynes-based EmptyCartridge Recycling Limited will sign the lease for the new warehouse tomorrow, and plans to begin moving next week. The firm currently has 11 employees, which it says will double by “this time next year”.

One of the Managing Directors Daniel Gould explained that although the company has seen significant growth over the past couple of years, the business still struggles to fulfil all of the remanufacturers’ orders.

He said: “We are trying to broaden our range to include different avenues and organizations to collect from.

“Selling more goods does increase our profits year-on-year, but I think that we have also been targeting the right people through our website, such as schools businesses and charities.

“We don’t really do a lot of marketing. I think we have just gone about collecting empties in the right manner.

“We look for an all-round possible solution for everyone – the remanufacturers and the people we collect from.

“The new premises are more established and based in the centre of town, which will attract more clients. A more professional looking building is an advantage when competing with other collectors.”

Gould added that EmptyCartridge Recycling Limited works to minimize landfill waste, and currently recycles 95 percent of its waste. This not only includes end-of-life cartridges, but the card packaging too. He claimed that other empties collectors do not recycle all of their waste.

10-year-old EmptyCartridge Recycling, headed by Donald Hodgson, merged with Gould’s company C&D Recycling about two years ago to become EmptyCartridge Recycling Limited.
