Disgruntled copywriter slates cartridges

Dec 20, 2010

The writer begins by describing the remanufactured HP 300 black cartridge’s yield and features, but then moves on to talk about his anger and frustration at having to write copy for cartridges on the website.

The anonymous employee mentions that he “really can’t be bothered” to write the descriptions, and even references the fact that he had “sneakily took some” cartridges from the retailer, his employer. He signs himself off at the end of the paragraph as “the guy who writes the boring everyday mundane descriptions about printer cartridges”.

The product description in full has quickly become a viral sensation, with many websites picking up on the fact that the retailer has not yet removed it from the site. So is this a publicity stunt or a copywriter at breaking point?
