Print industry grows in Middle East

Dec 30, 2010

The SGI exhibition, taking place at Airport Expo Dubai from January 24th to 26th 2011, showcases the latest products and emerging technologies including advertising, architectural hardware, banners and posters, digital imaging, electronic message centres and signage, graphic imaging and services, and large format printing and signage.

There are a limited number of remanufacturers who specialise in wide-format printing, but the interest in this exhibition demonstrates that the Middle Eastern printing market appears to be developing. The development of this sector of the market bodes well for REMAX’s debut remanufacturing exhibition in Dubai, taking place from 7th to 9th March 2011.

Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt are the three markets that show the most promise in the region, according to Shihab Zubair, Business Development Manager at Epson Middle East. Zubair stated: “Epson sees a great opportunity in the Middle East especially with our new solutions like our value added outdoor signage options and package proofing using our new white ink solution.”

Rifki Hussain, Head Of Operations, Middle East & Africa at TheMagicTouch, a printing company, stated, “Certainly there’s every opportunity for the print industry to grow in this part of the world.”
