ICRRA launches training sessions for local remanufacturers

Jul 22, 2011

The Indian Cartridge Remanufacturers and Recyclers Association (ICRRA) has announced the first of a planned series of workshops aimed at giving local remanufactures the know-how they need to provide quality products.

ICRRA Executive Director Deepak Jalihal explained: “The perception of refilling in India is very low. Most refillers are not taken seriously because often the quality is very poor. There’s a lack of knowledge and a lack of the right technology and materials. We want to provide this knowledge and improve the quality of the industry.”

The first Classroom Session will take place at the Kumat hotel in Bangalore on Saturday 30 July, and will begin with Static Control’s revolutionary training movie. The video provides an in-depth look at recycling the popular HP 2600 cartridge, including 3D animation.

The training session will continue with a practical demonstration of remanufacturing the HP 2600, followed by a question and answer session.

“We will have a local instructor who can explain in the local language,” explained Deepak. “A lot of people in the industry don’t have a strong grasp of English, so this will help the instructions be clear for them.

“He will open up the cartridge and go through it with them, and they will be able to contact him later if they need more information.”

More sessions are planned to be held on a monthly basis, and the organisation also hopes to expand to cover the five Metro areas.

One person per ICRRA member is entitled to free entry, with an additional person attending for Rs. 75 (approx. £1).Non members can attend for Rs. 100 (£1.38).
