Redeem UK, an organisation committed to the recovery, refurbishment and recycling of consumer electronics, is gearing up for an extensive freepost campaign, with over 450,000 freepost envelopes being distributed this month across a range of campaigns.
Included are mailings to Amnesty International, National Trust for Scotland (a conservation charity), Breast Cancer Care and the UK’s Royal Society for the Preservation of Birds (RSPB).
Redeem is also including a freepost envelope insert into UK newspaper The Sunday Telegraph with partners Christian Aid, which will be received by 560,000 readers.
The organisation has also announced it will now be recycling iPods, CDs and DVDs, digital cameras, sat navs and handheld games consoles, as well as mobile phones and printer cartridges.
Redeem was recently awarded the Guinness World Record for the most mobile phones collected in a week, won in conjunction with the RSPB. The company collected over 6,000 in one week.
