Several remanufacturers have been removed from the wide spanning legal case over alleged infringement of patents for Lexmark toner chips.
Defendants R&L Imaging Group, Kiwi Group Inc., and Densigraphix Inc. have all been voluntarily dismissed from the case without prejudice. ACM Technologies Inc. meanwhile has been dismissed with prejudice.
Miller told The Recycler that the dismissals were the result of settlements reached with the defendants.
As The Recycler reported, the lawsuit was jointly launched by American Imaging Cartridge, Innovative Cartridge Technology and Platinum Manufacturing International, three companies affiliated with Steven Miller, on 14 December 2010.
Almost 30 remanufacturers, suppliers and individuals were named in the case, which centred on several key patents held by Miller relating to chips for the Lexmark T630 and T640.
The case against the remaining defendants continues with the Florida Middle District Court. Miller said that several other defendants are currently in the final phases of settlement talks.
