CEO Minoru Usui is reportedly impressed during his first visit to the UAE, an area reportedly a “vital part” of its global business.

Epson has reiterated its focus on the Middle East during President and CEO Minoru Usui’s first visit to the region, reports Khaleej Times.

Reportedly “impressed” with Dubai, Usui spoke on the importance of the region during a press conference on 2 September, stating: “We have a focus on these markets, and we are ready to give what the customers need […] Every place has specific needs, and we are here to give what this region requires. That’s why we are increasing our presence in the Middle East.”

Focus was given to the OEM’s Micro Piezo technology, for use in its inkjet devices, and Usui will be meeting with a number of high-ranking officials from the government and private sector during his visit in the UAE.

Usui continued: “The Middle East has been a very important growth destination for Epson and it continues to open exciting opportunities to innovate and grow our market share. The region will obviously play a crucial role in Epson’s global expansion plans and we are therefore fully committed to deliver technology solutions that satisfy the expectations of our customers in the Middle East.

“My visit underlines Epson’s enthusiasm to meet our strategic partners and customers in the region to interact with them and to better understand their concerns and unique requirements, which will greatly help us in our continuing pursuit of growth and excellence.”

Predicted in January 2012 to experience growth, the Middle East has seen focus from a number of OEMs including HP, Lexmark, and Canon, which recently initiated a cartridge recycling programme in the region.
