Two new software applications for PIXUS-series inkjet printers announced by OEM.
The Asahi Shimbun reports on Canon’s release in Japan of two new software applications for use with its PIXUS-series inkjet printers.
Owners of the PIXUS-series printers, which are designed for home-use, will now be able to benefit from Canon’s My Image Garden and Print Your Days applications, both of which deal with photos and images.
The My Image Garden application is available for free download from the Canon homepage and automatically combines customers’ photos saved on their computer to create photo collages and calendars.
To benefit from Canon’s Print Your Days application, customers are not required to install the software, but access it via Facebook, with the application allowing users to print photos saved on the social networking site, “either one at a time or in a collage using up to five images”. A shuffle function is also included in the app that automatically determines image sizes and adjusts photo placement accordingly.
