OEM will uphold product warranties, provide technical service and sell ink to customers following its exit from the inkjet market.
Kodak has revealed that it will continue to sell ink despite its announcement that it plans to cease its inkjet business, for as long as consumer demand remains strong, reports PCWorld.
Kodak spokesperson Krista Gleason also commented: “Kodak will continue to sell ink to its customers, honour all product warranties, and provide technical support and service,” with product warranties and customer support to last “the expected lifetime of the printers” which the OEM has clarified as three to four years.
Despite the company’s Chapter 11 status, Kodak’s announcement stated that continuing ink sales has also remained part of the OEM’s efforts: “Kodak has continued to manage its Consumer Inkjet business for profitability, and […] starting in 2013, it will focus that business on the sale of ink to its installed base.”
