OEM seeks expansion for its plant in Lipa, Batangas that will increase printer production capacity to 6 million per year.

Epson Philippines Corp has applied for registration with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) in a bid to expand its plant in Lipa, Batangas, reports Business World Online.

The expansion will allow the OEM to increase its annual inkjet printer production capacity by approximately six million, and lead to an increase in its workforce from 6,000 to 8,000.

If Epson’s registration is successful, the OEM will be valid for benefits including a six-year income tax holiday for the printer-producing division of the factory.

The OEM has also stated that “Factory Two, built on land adjacent to the existing plant, will increase the projector production capacity of Epson Precision (Philippines) to about one million units per year by the end of 2012.”
