aficionados is this good? have replicated the seminal Bob Dylan classic The Times They Are a-Changin’ on the most unlikely of devices: disused Brother printers, reports Hot Hardware.
Inspired by “radical tinkerers”, is this good? went to a number of landfill sites to procure the required devices and tore them apart to reverse engineer in their workshop in a bid to get each printers to produce the required note through a MIDI controller.
is this good? produced the song on 5 November, commissioned by Brother and the Grey London PR agency. A screenshot of the process through audio editing software has been shared, and the performance can be viewed below.
