OEM and football club join forces to deliver printers to local schools at Christmas.
Man Utd.com reports that Epson, which has sponsored Manchester United for over two years, donated some of its limited edition Manchester United Epson printers to local schools in Manchester, with two of the football team’s former players presenting the schools with the printers.
Ex-Manchester United players Denis Irwin and Dion Dublin visited the schools in December to present the printers, meet the students and share stories of their time at the football club.
The Epson Manchester United printer boasts the football team’s red colour and logo as well as manager Alex Ferguson’s signature. It offers printing, scanning and copying functions, is Wi-Fi enabled and compatible with mobile devices, enabling users to print from anywhere using a smartphone or tablet device.
In addition, each of the printers comes with a Manchester United Print Studio CD-ROM, which allows users to create and print their own Manchester United branded calendar, posters, flyers, invitations and greetings cards.
As well as the donations Epson has made to the schools, the OEM has also pledged to donate a percentage of the sales from the printers to the Manchester United Foundations charity, with the organisation already receiving £25,500 ($41,000/€31,000) earlier in the football season.
Printers cost around £99.99 ($162/€122) and if purchased from the Epson website by 10th February, the customer will go into a prize draw to win one of 14 places on a Manchester United experience day, including a soccer school session.
