Trade show event organiser sees increase in sales both in Frankfurt and outside of Germany.
Messe Frankfurt, the event organiser behind the Remanexpo aftermarket trade shows, has announced that it achieved its highest ever level of sales during 2012 with a new record of €538 million ($705 million), becoming the first German trade show organiser to ever reach €500 million in sales and improving on 2011 sales by 15 percent.
The company saw growth in its home country of Germany, with top levels of international participation at its events in Frankfurt; as well as an increase of 28 percent in sales outside of Germany to €169 million ($221.5 million), accounting for around 31 percent of its total sales.
Wolfgang Marzin, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt, commented: “We expect to generate sales of around €538 million – the highest ever in the history of our Group to date. Thanks to hard work and a little luck, we were able to better our planned levels by almost €40 million.”
Speaking on the Group’s success outside of Germany, Marzin added: “With €169 million, we succeeded once again in increasing our operating business outside Germany by a substantial 28 percent compared with 2011, which was the previous record year”.
Messe Frankfurt will be hosting Remanexpo Europe 2013 at the end of this month as part of its Paperworld Europe trade show in Frankfurt, with hundreds of aftermarket companies set to exhibit at the show. Remanexpo Middle East, also organised by Messe Frankfurt, will take place in March.
