The company’s employees, customers and suppliers celebrated the anniversary this weekend in Germany.
What were you doing on 29 February 1988? For Heinz Sieg it was the first day of business for KMP, and the start of a journey that has seen KMP, based in Eggenfelden in Germany, become the largest family-run remanufacturing business, with over 600 staff worldwide.
Founded in 1988 when the company employed three people, through to its expansion in 2013, employing hundreds of staff, having a worldwide network of dealers and nearly 4000 customers worldwide, KMP is a true remanufacturing success story.
And at the Lokschuppen in Simbach am Inn, family, friends, employees, customers and suppliers came together to celebrate KMP’s birthday. After the speeches from Heinz Sieg, his son and KMP CEO Jan-Michael and the local mayor, guests enjoyed a sumptuous buffet meal and a great night of entertainment and dancing until the early hours.
For those that could manage the late night and early start on 15 June, there was also the opportunity to visit KMP’s newly remodeled factory. It takes a lot to survive a year in the remanufacturing business, much less 25 years. It’s clear that KMP has found the right strategy to make it work.
