OEM financially supports those assisting in flood relief efforts following torrential rainfall in August.
Epson has announced that it has donated PHP 1 million ($22,300/€16,800) through local non-profit organisation Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) to help with the flood relief efforts in the Philippines after the region was severely affected by flooding caused by torrential rainfall on 17 August.
The OEM stated that it “wishes to extend its sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives, and hopes for the speedy recovery of the areas damaged by the disaster” after flooding left more than half of the Manila region under water, causing over 80,000 people to flee their homes. At least eight people have reportedly lost their lives due to the disaster.
As well as making a financial donation, employees from two local Epson companies plan to cooperate with PBSP in the distribution of relief goods to the affected areas.
Epson was previously reported to have donated to flood relief efforts in the Philippines following a typhoon at the end of 2011; while this year German cartridge manufacturer KMP raised €10,000 ($13,000) for those affected by flooding in Lower Bavaria in May and June of this year.
