The OEM’s distributor Mercantile Office Systems will market the M-series of monochrome inkjets.
The Himalayan Times reported on the product launch from the OEM, through its sole authorised distributor in Nepal, Mercantile Office Systems. The “economical” M-series of monochrome ink tank inkjet printers follow the “hugely successful” and “well accepted” colour ink tank system printers launched in Nepal previously.
The new range are designed for “corporates who primarily print black and white documents and who demand the lowest running costs possible with crisp print quality”. Mercantile noted in turn that “when many people think of office printing in Nepal they think laser”, and that it is “here to change this”, as it is “absolutely confident that our M-series printers will drive the shift from laser to inkjet printing”.
The new models include the M100 single function, available for Rs 23,500 ($237/€174), and the M200 all-in-one, available for Rs 38,000 ($383/€282). Both machines can print up to 8,000 pages at a cost per page of 25 paisa ($0.003/€0.002), which Mercantile states is 90 percent lower “compared to genuine laser toner” and 70 percent lower than “third party refilled laser”.
The distributor added that the machines “also provide assured reliability”, with a lifespan of 50,000 pages, and noted that the machines are available at its 30 outlets across Nepal.
