Spicers launches recycling initiative

5 StarThe stationer’s Brilliant Partners now have access to new cartridge recycling service helping resellers to encourage end users to recycle.

OPI reported on the launch of Spicers’ new cartridge recycling initiative through its new agreement with DCI, with the service being free for Spicers Brilliant Partners resellers to use, providing them with envelopes and bins for distribution throughout their customer base so that end users can easily recycle and return used cartridges to DCI without charge. DCI will then dismantle the returned cartridges and recycle parts for re-use.

Simon Wallis, Business Development Director at Spicers, commented on the launch: “Having a simple scheme that reduces waste cost within an end-user business and offers a sustainable, cost-free solution gives our resellers major benefit when selling the whole EOS proposition to their customers. Being part of Spicers Brilliant Partner programme is all about having the ability to tap into our suite of services that provide added-value to a resellers customer, and our cartridge and phone recycling scheme certainly does that.”

After trialling the service over the last few months, Katie Weyman of Officeworx, a Spicers Brilliant Partner, said: “We’ve been really impressed with the service, it’s flexible and collections are speedy. Previous solutions we’ve trialled have meant we’ve had to sort original cartridges from compatibles but that’s not necessary with DCI making it a practical solution for our customers and the Officeworx business too.”
