The new range of PIXMA machines is “primed to meet the needs of home users”.

CIOL reported on the release by Canon India of the five new AIOs in the PIXMA range, expanding it to 27 models. The new machines feature wireless and smart device connectivity, and include the PIXMA MG7170, MG6470, MG3570, MG2570 and MG2470.

The OEM notes that the new printers are “primed to meet the needs of homes users” by being “easy to install”, with the mobile printing and wireless connectivity helping consumers “print-on-the-go”, and come in a number of colours including brown, grey-white, white and red. Promotion of the machines will see the OEM attempt to create the largest printed image using the new devices, with consumers encouraged to take part.

Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, Executive Vice President of Canon India, stated: “We are excited with the introduction of the new range of colourful inkjet all-in-one printers, which have been designed keeping in mind the emerging tech-savvy youth in India who prefer using smart devices, social networking, mobility and connectivity on-the-go.

“We are preparing to make Indian households get more digitally connected as they use WI-Fi and Cloud printing. They can now use multiple devices to fire prints ‘anytime, anywhere’. Indian homes today are getting increasingly comfortable with apps like Picasa, Evernote, Dropbox, Flicker and other services. Printing anytime from anywhere has been the only loop.

“You can now access your apps through smart devices and use Canon cloud enabled printers to complete the picture of digital world. We hope initiatives like this will help us grow the inkjet category where Canon has now captured 29 percent market share and [are] aiming for [a] big leap by 2014.”
