Franchise’s Nuneaton store fundraises for Mary Ann Evans Hospice.
Nuneaton News reported that the store in Nuneaton has reached the £2,000 ($3,300/€2,400) mark in its fundraising efforts after running a campaign to raise money for the local charity, which helps to enhance the quality of life of people who have a terminal illness by offering “physical, emotional, social and spiritual” support to them, their families and those caring for them.
The £2,000 has been raised partly through the Cartridge World store’s recycling and also through its loyalty card scheme, with Store Owner Stuart Lloyd explaining: “It costs £1 ($1.63/€1.20), which we donate to the hospice […] customers then accrue points which can be used to get cash-backs on purchases of Cartridge World printer cartridges.”
Explaining why he decided to raise money for the charity, Lloyd said: “When I opened my Cartridge World store seven years ago, supporting a local charity was part of my business plan. Of course, there are so many worthy causes, but the excellent work of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice really stood out.”
Janet Kavanagh, Fundraising Manager at the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, said: “Cartridge World has provided excellent support in so many ways as well as the fantastic donation of £2,000.
“They have decorated shop windows, gone yellow in ‘Go Yellow Week’ and importantly raised awareness of the work of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice.”
