Ecns.cn reported that IDC has predicted a surge in demand for commercial laser printers this year as the country’s manufacturing, financial and healthcare sectors grow; with the research company expecting nearly 40 percent of the printers to be bought by organisations in these sectors.

The total number of laser print shipments is estimated to reach 8.15 million – an eight percent increase on last year, when China’s manufacturing sector was reported to have reached an 11-month low in July.

Furthermore, as more domestic and overseas banks continue to open new branches in the country, demand for printers could result in a 10.2 percent growth in shipments in 2014 compared to last year. This will also be aided by rapid development of community medical services, meaning that health organisations will also be demanding more printers.

Wang Sha, a Senior Analyst at IDC, said that “small and medium-sized private companies are set to increase their presence in the manufacturing sector”, adding that SMEs will also be able to get loans more easily form the Government, which will expand their productivity.
