The two laser devices are aimed at SMBs.

TechRadar reported on the launch of the new printers at the Samsung European Forum, with the mono laser Xpress M2880 and colour laser Xpress C1860 the two machines revealed.

The M2880 is capable of printing 28ppm, whilst the C1860 can print 18ppm, with both featuring near-field communication (NFC) technology as well as wireless connectivity. NFC technology allows smartphone users to tap their phone on the printer and send files for printing, with a range of other companies releasing printers containing this technology over the past year including HP and Brother.

Users with Samsung Galaxy devices can print through wireless to the machines, and other phone users can utilise Samsung’s mobile printing app, available on Android and Apple, with Google’s Cloud Print also supported. The two machines were launched alongside server-free printing software, Business Core Printing Solutions, as well as a new web-based XOA open platform tool.
