The eight new machines include two entry-level units.
The Star reported Canon Malaysia’s eight new additions to the PIXMA inkjet range, with two entry-level, ink-efficient devices – the E400 and E560 – aimed at students and “cost-conscious” users.
The E400 features a single black cartridge that will only cost users RM25 ($7.61/€5.48), making it “one of the most affordable all-in-one inkjet printers to use in the long run” according to Canon, which adds the claim that one of these black cartridges “can print up to 400” pages, whilst a hybrid colour inkjet cartridge costing RM49.90 ($15.20/€10.94) can print “up to 300 pages”.
In terms of other features, the E400 can print monochrome documents at 8ipm and colour at 4ipm, with a print resolution of 4,800 x 600 dpi. The E560 meanwhile can print 800 pages with its black inkjet cartridge, costing RM39.90 ($12.16/€8.75), whilst its colour cartridge costs RM49.90 and can print 300 pages as well. This machine’s print speed is 5.6ipm in colour and 9.9ipm in monochrome, with a resolution of 4,800 x 1,200 dpi in addition to wireless connectivity and cloud printing support.
The other machines launched in Malaysia include the PIXMA iP2870, iP8770, iX6770, iX6870, MX477 and MX537, with prices for these devices ranging from RM148 ($45.10/€32.46) to RM 998 ($304.15/€218.92), whilst the E400 is available for RM248 ($75.58/€54.40) and the E560 for RM 398 ($121.29/€87.30). Canon Malaysia’s Consumer System Product Assistant Director Jeffrey Kung added that “we believe that with these models we can continue to delight our consumers and effectively cater to their needs”.
