The 8620 and 8610 AIOs are the latest business inkjet models from the OEM.
HP announced the release of the two new machines by noting that they will help the company “simplify small business printing” through their mobile connectivity and “business print solutions”, which will aid businesses by “mak[ing] printing easier and help[ing] cut operating costs”.
The Officejet Pro 8620 and 8610 AIOs offer “high-quality colour printing for up to 50 percent lower cost-per-page” compared to colour laser machines, according to HP, and SMBs using the printers can “increase productivity” by utilising the built-in Web Jetadmin software, which offers printer management features.
The 8620 features NFC (near-field communication) technology as well as a 4.3-inch touch screen, as well as a 50-page automatic document feeder, whilst the 8610 does not include NFC technology but does feature mobile and wireless connectivity for mobile printing. HP noted that SMBs “are looking to ink technology” for printing due to “cost savings, improved print speeds and added business functionality”, with business inkjet expected to grow to 56 percent of all machines by 2016.
Stephen Nigro, Senior Vice President of HP’s Inkjet and Printing Solutions and Graphics Solutions Business in its Printing and Personal Systems Group, stated: “Small business owners are constantly looking for ways to reduce operating costs and increase productivity. These new inkjet printers deliver the high-quality printing our customers expect, while helping [to] reduce costs and increase efficiency with the latest mobile print technology.”
The 8610 will be available in the UK from 1 April and throughout the EMEA from Spring at a price of £146 ($242/€175), whilst the 8620 follows the same release pattern and will cost £205 ($340/€245).
