Seine Holland B.V. was named in a lawsuit filed earlier this month by Canon in the Netherlands – a case which had begun against Aster Technology Holland B.V. in late April, in which the OEM alleged both companies have infringed its European patent 2 087 407, which pertains to cartridges used in HP machines.

The case refers to the “importation, offer and sale of certain toner cartridges for use in various models of Hewlett-Packard laser beam printers”, with the OEM seeking “injunctive relief and damages” against Seine and Aster.

Seine commented: “Canon filed a lawsuit against Seine Holland B.V. before the District Court of The Hague. We are confident with our proprietary technology. Our continuous and reliable supply won’t be interfered by the case. We will also have our lawyer to present in the court defending our products.”
