Store in Evesham holds competition asking members of the public to guess how many cartridges it had recycled.
Tewkesbury Ad Mag reported that the competition challenged Cartridge World customers to guess how many cartridges the store in Merstow Green, Evesham, had recycled in March in order to “highlight the importance of recycling”; with the winner presented with a “giant” Easter egg.
A container of empty cartridges representing the amount that had been recycled in March was displayed in the store’s window to demonstrate the value of recycling, and people were asked to guess how many cartridges had been recycled, with the winner being Ali Adlkish, whose guess was closest at 650 cartridges.
Penny Jones, co-owner of the store, said: “It was a great competition, well supported and especially good when parents came in with children to whom we could demonstrate the importance of recycling.
“It’s worth considering this figure multiplied by 12 gives you in excess of 7,500 cartridges saved from going into our landfill in a year.
“The total number of cartridges recycled in March was 630. Congratulations to the competition winner Ali Adlkish of Abbey Motors in Abbey Road, Evesham, whose guess of 650 was the closest.”
Competition winner Ali Adlkish commented: “I always use Cartridge World for my business printers and whilst in the shop thought I would have a go.
“I didn’t think I would be close to the right answer let alone win. I am delighted but the chocolate won’t last long when my mechanics see it.”
