Jun 4, 2014

mopria-560x400OEM announces it has been appointed as a board member of the organisation.

Konica Minolta, which joined the Mopria Alliance as an executive member in January, announced that it is now a board member of the organisation, having been nominated and approved by other Mopria members.

As a board member, the OEM’s role will “contribute to the dissemination and promotion of a seamless mobile printing environment from a global perspective by participating more proactively in the activities of the organisation”. Activities include “final approval of Mopria specifications and the product certification process” along with “press relations and developer outreach”.

The Mopria Alliance was launched in September 2013 by Canon, HP, Samsung, and Xerox with the aim of simplifying, promoting and increasing accessibility of mobile printing and addressing the need for “simple, standardised, brand-agnostic mobile printing”. Since then, other OEMs have joined the alliance, including Konica Minolta, Epson, and Kyocera.
