Ricoh introduces compact MFPs

mpc401C401 and C401SR offer “mobility, security and environmental features” for small offices.

Techradar.pro reported on the launch of two new MFPs by Ricoh, with the devices designed for “offices with limited space” due to their compact size.

Documents up to 8.5 by 14 inches can be printed by the two MFPs in resolutions of up to 1,200 dpi; with both devices meeting Energy Star 2.0 certification and earning an Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool gold rating.

They also both feature an optional 10.1-inch touchscreen operation panel that can be used to access documents previously saved in the cloud, and both iOS and Android devices are supported, enabling users to print directly from smartphones and tablets via email, mobile apps or the internet. In terms of security, both printers offer password-protected, user-specific authentication as well as Ricoh’s new DataOverwriteSecurity System which can “destroy latent images and stored data”.

Comparing the two MFPs, the MP C401SR has a dimension of 23.8 inches wide by 22.4 inches deep by 28 inches tall, and includes a 250-sheet internal finisher capable of stapling up to 50 pages simultaneously. Meanwhile, the slightly smaller MP C401 is 21.7 inches wide by 22.4 inches deep by 28 inches tall, and does not include a 250-sheet internal finisher.

In terms of cost, the MP C401SR has a RRP of $6,405 (€4,723) while the MP C401 is listed at $5,880 (€4,336).
