Ink Factory LogotypeThe online retailer has been chosen to join Google’s Certified Shops programme.

In a press release, the company stated that it had been awarded the Google Certified Shops badge, which is awarded to ecommerce sites “that demonstrate a track record of on-time shipping and excellent customer service”. Visitors to the company’s website will see the badge, and “can click on it for more information”.

The company added that “as an added benefit, when a shopper makes a purchase at a Google Certified Shop, they have the option to select free purchase protection from Google”. This means that in the “unlikely event of an issue with their purchase”, the customer can request Google’s help, and Google “will work with Ink Factory and the customer to address the issue”, with Google offering up to £1,000 ($1,600/€1,279) in “lifetime purchase protection” for eligible purchases.

The service is “entirely free” for both Ink Factory and the company’s customers, with the programme said to be something that will help Ink Factory “attract new customers, increase sales and differentiate themselves by showing off their excellent service”.

Tim Johnson, Managing Director and Founder of Ink Factory, stated: “After more than 15 years selling online, Ink Factory has shipped millions of ink cartridges to satisfied customers nationwide. But it’s hard to stand out in a crowded and commoditised marketplace; the Google Certified shops programme provides clear proof from a trusted third party that we are an established business and we keep our promises.”

Ink Factory became one of the first companies in the industry to accept Bitcoin payments for cartridges last December, with Johnson speaking to The Recycler in a feature in issue 256 about the payment’s potential. He stated earlier this year that the future of Bitcoin in retail was “overstated”, and Ink Factory launched a Bitcoin-related web app in July this year.
