Fuji Xerox launches Next Generation MPS

Nov 27, 2014

Fuji Xerox mpsOEM announces launch of new MPS offering in the Asia-Pacific to better support secure mobile and cloud accessibility.

Fuji Xerox states that its new Next Generation MPS moves “beyond optimisation of printing environment[s]” as it is designed to support clients in optimising document-related work processes with enhanced security in mobile and cloud environments, with the services launched in the Asia-Pacific region (including Japan) on 26 November.

The solution is said to provide an environment where users can effectively and securely obtain information when and wherever needed, segmenting document-related processes into three stages – ‘assess and optimise’, ‘secure and integrate’, and ‘automate and simplify’.

The ‘assess and optimise’ stage captures the total cost of ownership (TCO), user status, and power consumption to reduce cost and environmental impact and allow users to compare print volumes and operating costs across other departments. It also sets management and user policies to establish the best-fit printing environment.

Meanwhile, the ‘secure and integrate’ stage enhances security and manages printers in a variety of environments, including offices, mobile, or cloud; with users able to configure detailed printer settings such as allocating an upper limit to colour printing by person or allowing a limited group of people to print confidential documents.

The final ‘automate and simplify’ stage uses the data collected in the first two stages to identify which work processes rely heavily on paper, capturing both quantitative and qualitative data to analyse and visualise why paper-based documents are printed and how they are distributed. The service then determines inefficient work processes and suggest how clients can improve efficiency by digitising processes and automating their workflow.

Masashi Sakamoto, President of Fuji Xerox Global Services, said: “One of our strengths is the capability to provide consistent services worldwide together with Xerox. We boast top market share and lead the MPS market in the Asia-Pacific region, and have gained vast experience with our customers to date. With this new service, we would like to become our customers’ stronger partner who can support and solve their management issues.”

Eiji Ishida, Analyst, Imaging, Printing & Document Solutions at IDC Japan, noted the importance of mobile and cloud technologies in solving previous work issues, commenting: “IDC considers that the integration of mobile and cloud into workflow optimisation is required for future MPS. Fuji Xerox’s Next Generation MPS is offering solutions in such a new environment, and we expect that their new services will bring MPS to the next stage.”
