The franking machine manufacturer and cartridge remanufacturer has been appointed by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS).ccs-logo

The appointment will see Totalpost provide franking machines and mailroom equipment under the CCS’ Postal Goods and Services Framework (RM1063) for Franking Machines and Mailroom Equipment – also known as Lot 5. The CCS is an executive agency of the UK government’s Cabinet Office, and works with departments and organisations “across the entire public sector to ensure maximum value is extracted from every commercial relationship”, according to Totalpost.

The CCS also “improves the quality of service delivery by bringing together policy, advice, and direct buying”, which all help it “aim to save the taxpayer money” by working with stakeholders “across the public sector to provide customers with a quick and easy route for buying postal goods and services”. This is undertaken with the help of public buying organisations including ESPO and YPO.

Totalpost stated that it is “now able to supply the provision of postal goods and services”, which means it “can sell or lease equipment and consumables” such as franking machines, folder inserters, letter openers and address systems”. The company also noted that “in securing the CCS framework” it can “significantly reduce timescales and costs in product delivery, due to the increased efficiency of the new procurement system”.

The agreement is “fully compliant with the EU and UK procurement rules and regulations”, and Totalpost commented that it will “help CCS deliver savings for the public sector and the taxpayer by aggregating spend to drive best value”. The company launched a complete document handling system in February, was named a Ricoh dealer last March, and acquired Mailing and Mechanisation UK Ltd. as well as becoming an exclusive distributor for Muller earlier this year.

David Hymers, Managing Director of Totalpost, stated: “I am pleased that Totalpost has secured this agreement as it will offer our customers a faster and easier route for buying postal goods. We are excited to assist the government and public sector in meeting requirements for mail and postal services.

“As an independent supplier we work hard to foster consolidation and increase overall business savings, and we look forward to using this framework to help more public sector organisations to do this.”
