The new and updated programmes are said to “improve compliance and efficiency, while mitigating security risks”, with HP stating that the “expanded set of offerings is part” of its “broader strategy to deliver innovative print security” that is more “accessible to more customers”. One of the features is HP Access Control, which now includes “server-less pull printing” and “eliminates the need for servers in small, branch offices”.

The pull printing is secure and “can be deployed to maintain document confidentiality, improve regulatory compliance and save on toner and paper”. The Access Control service can also now function as a “managed mobility solution”, so mobile users can print through email to the “secure pull print queue” with “the same access control, tracking and security measures” as through a PC or laptop on a network. All of these new features are “available globally” to Access Control users.

Another new addition is the expansion of device coverage for the HP JetAdvantage Security Manager, now covering newer Pro-class LaserJets. Customers with these machines can use the OEM’s “policy-based security monitoring and management solution to secure a wider range of printers”. HP’s Printing Security Advisory Services were also expanded to Europe and Asia.

A new module for HP’s Capture and Route solution was also released, allowing for “greater security through analytics and automation” with forms recognition capabilities. The module is available globally, and “makes it faster and easier to scan paper documents and manage them digitally to reduce errors and improve security and compliance”. The system also integrates with HP’s Big Data, Teleform and Process Automation services for customers needing “additional workflow automation”.

Finally, the Proactive Print Advisor service was launched, for customers who are “looking to optimise their printer fleet for efficiency and productivity”. The service allows for “customised reporting, analysis and recommendations based on their individual print environment”; is available globally; and is said to help users “reduce the printer management load for IT organisations by providing recommendations on how to optimise their print fleet”.

Edmund Wingate, HP’s Vice President of LaserJet Enterprise Solutions, commented: “Security and protecting corporate data are issues of growing importance for our customers. HP continues to lead the way in printer security with offerings that strengthen the security of our network printers and help protect our customers’ data.”
