ThINK RefillThINK Refill, based in Ontario, offers free refills to regular customers.

Inside Halton reported on the inkjet and toner cartridge refill store and its programme, with the store based in Oakville, Ontario in Canada. The store has been “providing refill services for over 10 years”, and has seen success thanks to “high-quality refill services and the substantial cost savings over purchasing new” cartridges.

The store’s ‘Frequent Filler’ loyalty programme is an initiative to which “all customers using ThINK Refill’s services are automatically enrolled”, and gives customers either a free inkjet cartridge refill or a CA$10 ($7.33/€7.10) discount on a toner cartridge after “every tenth combination of inkjet and/or laser cartridge purchases”. In turn, such rewards are able to be accessed faster through a “referral programme”, in which an existing customer receives two credits for referring a new customer.

ThINK Refill noted that the programme has been a “great success as many rewards have been redeemed”, with over 8,600 free inkjet refills or CA$10 “rebates”, and added that based on the idea that “over 700 million inkjet cartridges are sold across North America [and] only five percent of those are recycled”, the programme has saved “well over 185,000 laser and inkjet cartridges” from “going to landfill waste”.
