The two new MFPs are said to give companies “an immediate and dramatic boost in productivity”.

Albawaba reported on the release of the KX-MB2168 and MB2128 MFPs in the Middle East Africa (MEA) region, with Panasonic stating that the machines feature print speeds of 24ppm alongside “quick duplexing” to cut print times “in half when compared to standard 26ppm MFPs”. Pages can be divided into two, four, six, eight or 16 parts when printing, allowing for “an overall view of the data when it’s not necessary to see the details of each part”.

Other features include reviewing faxes on web browsers before printing them, an Easy Print utility to “merge multiple file types” into a single print job and modify print outputs before printing, and the ability to send scanned documents from the machine via a network or USB cable to another destination. Both machines feature compatibility with Google Cloud Print and Panasonic mobile apps, wireless networking and Ethernet connectivity.

Nelson Edward, Manager of System Networks and Communication for Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa (PMMAF), commented: “With Secure Print, [the devices] can prevent confidential documents from being leaked by protecting them with very high level security. Print data is password-protected and temporarily stored on a computer’s hard drive.

“Information leaks caused by fax transmission mistakes are also prevented by protecting against erroneous dial number input and by placing restrictions on direct dialling. Copying and printing can be restricted by the use of a department code. Also, the code effectively manages copying and printing usage.”
