Research from Canon has found that 36 percent of small business owners are searching for more environmentally-friendly printing solutions.
Mark Robinson, Market Business Developer for the OEM, said in an article on SMEweb that when the business respondents were asked what ‘environmentally efficient’ means to them, 61 percent mentioned ‘recycling of print consumables’, 58 percent ‘reduced toner/ink consumption and 56 percent ‘double-sided printing’, while 79 percent said ‘paper saving’ and 68 percent mentioned ‘recycling of general waste’.
Canon found that a further 54 percent of small business owners “agree that their company cares about being environmentally friendly”, with some countries placing environmentalism “at the core of business objectives”. 73 percent of Italian SME and SOHO owners say that being environmentally conscious is “crucial”.
Robinson added that many small businesses aren’t aware “that they can use new print and document management technologies to cut waste, as well as boost efficiency and improve profitability”.
