A blogsite piece recommending original cartridges defined “remanufactured” cartridges as built by third-party manufacturers “using components and parts of old cartridges”.
This was in contrast to a definition of a “compatible” as a third-party-manufactured cartridge made using “all […] new parts and components”, in an article on the DataBazaar blog about which HP toner cartridges to use. “Refilled” were said to involve “no manufacturing” at all, as “only the toner is filled in the old empty toner cartridges”.
The piece also advised buyers to consider “frequency of printer use, cost factors [and] types of printing requirements”, and asserted that HP is the preferred brand among customers. It further recommended that performance should be the priority and that a “reliable choice” to avoid “compromise in your prints” would be original HP cartridges.
It also mentioned the advantage of smart technical support and warranties from HP if you use OEM cartridges.
