TeriostarThe OEM has purchased the ColorPainter and Teriostar brands, in efforts to meet the needs for “high-quality, short-run, on-demand output”.

The ColorPainter line includes a new grand-format device, which prints on media up to 104 inches wide, as well as two 64-inch devices, Graphic Arts reported. The manufacturer had the devices on show at the SGIA expo earlier this month.

The Teriostar line meanwhile includes LED multifunction printers for fast, high-resolution prints for reprographics, engineering, architectural, CAD and mapping applications. OKI also recently completed its acquisition of global wide-format printer business Seiko I Infotech (SIIT), a subsidiary of Seiko Instruments (SII), forming the new company OKI Data Infotech.

Masahiko Morioka, President and CEO of OKI, said: “We see this as a major growth area, and remain committed to delivering printing innovation serving the specialty printing and imaging technology market. OKI is dedicated to the success and continuing evolution of our professional printing product segment, and the collaborative development of other new and innovative printing solutions for the commercial printing market.”
