The group has held 132 trade fairs and exhibitions this year, and expects its earnings before tax to reach €47 million ($51.1 million).

The company expects sales of around €645 million ($702.3 million), while consolidated annual net income will “once again be more than €30 million ($32.6 million)”.

Domestic sales have grown, while consolidate sales are at around €400 million ($435.5 million), meaning that 57 percent of group sales, or around €370 million ($402.8 million) “can be attributed to the company’s Frankfurt base”.

Operating business outside Germany has grown to €246 million ($267.8 million), with 38 percent of sales revenue now generated outside of the country. The company will have 2,297 active employees by the end of the year.

Other new records set this year include the 48,000 exhibitors and over 1.7 million visitors who went to the 86 events the group organised outside of Germany. Detlef Braun, a member of the Executive Board, said that “in the future, we will continue to concentrate on what we know and what makes us successful: our core areas of expertise”.

The Guest Events business division had an “extremely strong year”, with the company’s congress and conference business showing substantial growth and chalking up some 150 events and 128,000 visitors. Messe Frankfurt is taking the next steps in developing its exhibition grounds, with preparations for the construction of Hall 12 currently in full swing. 2015 was also the first year the company organised the German Pavilion at an international expo, which received the Gold Award from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) for its theme-based design.
