Samsung’s C480FW
The OEM has released the C430W and 480FW for small businesses and home office users.
In a press release, Samsung Electronics America noted that the new models “bring efficiency through advanced mobile printing capabilities”, with the C430W a single-function colour laser and the C480FW a colour MFP. The machines are said to be “ideal for small and home offices”, with “convenient functionality” alongside the mobile printing features.
Among the mobile printing functions available on the machines are near-field communication (NFC), which uses Samsung’s free Mobile Print app for both Android and iOS mobile devices, and the Smart Colour Management System (Smart CMS), which automatically adjusts images sent to print from mobile devices. The C480FW is also compatible with Samsung’s Cloud Print cloud service, and offers scan-to-email functionality.
Both machines feature print speeds of up to 19ppm in monochrome and four ppm in colour, and use Samsung’s Rendering Engine for Clean Page (ReCP) technology, which produces “smooth images and crisp text […] on each page”. They both also utilise the Easy Eco Driver, which reduces toner use by up to 20 percent, for “long term cost efficiency” through the 1,500-page yield toners. Both will be available in January for $229.99 (€211.87) and $349.99 (€322.42) for the C430W and C480FW respectively.
