The OEM’s new colour machines are said to “put big business capabilities within reach of small offices”.
Xerox stated that the machines “affordably” offer “advanced features, reliability, unmatched colour”, with the Phaser 6510 printer and WorkCentre 6515 MFP offering “easy setup and high-productivity tools such as two-sided, single-pass scanning”. The OEM added that “most small business printers and multifunction devices are serviceable, but with limited capabilities and reliability”, and are “difficult to set up and don’t deliver what offices need today”.
The MFP also features a five-inch “app-based, tablet-like touchscreen” , while both printers have a paper capacity of 850 sheets alongside use of the “Super-Fine EA toner” for “the type of performance typically seen in large enterprise environments”. One such example of the printers’ abilities is that of a “small estate agency [that] can now print high-quality brochures and graphics on site and in minutes, without sacrificing colour quality and accuracy”.
Also, such a small office could “digitise client proposals and contracts, sending these files to their agents on the road and creating text-searchable versions for easy archiving”. The two machines, available now globally, also feature “connectivity from any device, enabling employees to print from a tablet or mobile phone if they’re working on-the-go”, eliminating the need to “forward documents to a PC for printing”.
On the toner, Xerox stated that “advancements” in the Super-Fine EA toner, which is “debuting” in the new printers, has allowed for “more accurate and detailed print jobs”, because “colour is appealing and attracts readers’ attention”. Other features consist of Wi-Fi Direct connectivity, compatibility with AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Mopria and Xerox’s Print Service Plug-In for Android, as well as a monthly duty cycle of 50,000 pages, 28ppm print speeds and 1,200 x 2,400dpi resolution.
Tracey Koziol, Senior Vice President of the Office and Solutions Business Group at Xerox, commented: “Until now, the options for small business printing have been mostly products with marginal capabilities, limiting the types of jobs small businesses can manage on their own. The market has been waiting for affordable, high-powered products like these.”
