The OEM won Buyers Laboratory (BLI) awards for its wide-format printers and solutions.

Canon stated that it has ended the year “on a high note” with the “multiple industry honours”, including the ‘2017 Wide Format Printer Line of the Year’ for the imagePROGRAF line-up. Other awards consisted of ‘Pick’ awards for its solutions including Therefore 2016 and the uniFLOW v5.4, alongside some of the imagePROGRAF PRO machines such as the PRO-4000 and PRO-2000 machines for the “fine art and photography markets”.

Two other imagePROGRAF PRO devices recognised included the PRO-6000S and PRO-4000S for the “production and signage industry”. The OEM stated that BLI’s ‘Line of the Year’ award is given to OEMs “whose product lines are determined to be the best overall in their category based on the collective test results of all models tested” during a “comprehensive two-month laboratory evaluation”.

The ‘Pick’ awards meanwhile are made by BLI’s “staff of technicians and editors after subjecting a number of devices” from every OEM to its “comprehensive lab tests in the last six months”. The Therefore 2016 solution won for ‘Outstanding Information Management Platform’, and is an “enterprise-class information management system” allowing for paper and electronic documents to be “stored, shared and processed in a user-friendly manner”.

IN turn, the uniFLOW v5.4 software won for ‘Outstanding Output Management Platform’, and is said to be “designed to provide improved scanning and mobile printing, office print and device management, and enhanced print room integration”.

Joe Tischner, Wide-format Analyst at BLI, commented: “With the expansion of the imagePROGRAF PRO Series of wide format printers, Canon has swept this year’s Annual ‘Pick’ and Line of the Year Awards in the Wide Format Printer Category. From the imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 and imagePROGRAF PRO-2000 models, designed to provide the spectacular output quality that imaging professionals require, to the affordably priced imagePROGRAF PRO-6000S and imagePROGRAF PRO-4000S models for vibrant signage and displays, Canon has once again demonstrated its commitment to providing innovative solutions for the large-format industry.”

Toyotsugu Kuwamura, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Business Imaging Solutions Group at Canon USA, added: “We are proud that BLI has recognised the imagePROGRAF line of large-format printers for its high-quality, ease of use and brilliant results. In addition, the recognition of Therefore 2016 and uniFLOW v5.4 further reinforces our commitment to providing comprehensive business solutions and productivity-enhancing platforms designed to meet the needs of today’s demanding business landscape.”
