The German cartridge collector has hired Edelmeier, who previously worked for OCP and was CEO of Cartridge World Germany.
In a press release, CR-Solutions International (CRS), which “specialise[s] in the collection, the sorting and the recovery of inkjet and toner cartridges”, stated that it had appointed Edelmeier as CEO, effective of 1 January. The company is based in the “lower Franconian Eibelstadt, close to the city of Würzburg”, and added that “as an aftermarket professional for printing supplies, especially ink, Edelmeier has know[n] the industry for years and has learned the business from scratch in his parental company”.
CRS also noted that “after his years as worldwide sales director of OCP GmbH, as well as his time with Cartridge World, he can not only call the industry his home, moreover his global network is excellent”. CRS will celebrate its fifth anniversary this year, and has been “combined with the former commercial operation”, with the long term goal “the development away from a classic empties collector and broker towards a waste management service provider”.
Edelmeier commented: “I have deliberated about several offers for my future career and decided for this new position at CRS due to the structure of the company and the possibilities arising out of it. We have big short- and medium term expansion plans. I’m looking forward to not only execut[ing] those, [but] furthermore tak[ing] a big part in the creation of them.
“[The] highest objective of our activities is the reuse of law-conforming collected and processed cartridges through our customers on a market that will, out of our point of view, massively change due to current legislation within the next months.”
Edelmeier replaces former CEO Christian Bracke, with Florian Werthmann, Owner of CRS, noting that he was “happy about the growth of the team [with] the well-linked ink expert and the expertise in the secondary market he will bring into the company. After years of successful and trustful customer and supplier relationship with Carsten Edelmeier at OCP GmbH, the decision for Carsten was easily taken after a few interviews once I heard that he was looking for a new scope”.
Werthmann added: “The business with empty cartridges is, besides the challenges of the aftermarket in general, nowadays influenced more than ever by the impact of the waste laws of the European Union, the interpretation of them by the single member states of the EU and the integration of printer cartridges into the scope of the ElektroG in Germany, respectively the WEEE2 in general on a European level.”
