The OEM’s US subsidiary has launched the ECOSYS M2640idw series of monochrome MFPs.
MPS Connect reported that the new A4 monochrome MFPs consists of four devices, including the M2640idw, 2540dw, 2040dn and 2635dw, with the machines featuring print speeds of up to 42ppm, a resolution of 1,200dpi, colour scanning and a “set of innovative features not previously available in the company’s offering to small and mid-size workgroups”.
The machines also feature “dual-scan document processors”, and utilise “long-life consumables” and an “upgradeable memory option” to offer a “low total cost of ownership” for workgroups “that require additional processing power”. Each has a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen and HyPAS capabilities, which allow users to “run dozens of business applications, including a variety of ‘connector’ apps”.
These in turn “allow seamless integration with many popular third-party document management systems (DMS) and content management systems (CMS)”, while the machines also feature compatibility with Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print and Kyocera Mobile Print. Finally, the printers support Kyocera Fleet Services (KFS), which are “a comprehensive cloud-based monitoring service that allows authorised dealers to handle many maintenance tasks for their customers without time-consuming on-site visits”.
KFS, the OEM notes, allows dealers to “anticipate issues and resolve them before they occur, and even update firmware remotely during off-hours, maximising uptime across the entire fleet”. The series is available now from “authorised Kyocera dealers”, with manufacturer’s suggested retail prices including: $1,567 (€1,500) for the M2640idw; $1,371 (€1,313) for the M2540dw; $1,181 (€1,131) for the M2040dn; and $816 (€781) for the M2635dw.
Douglas Cole, Director of Product Marketing for the Corporate Marketing Group at Kyocera Document Solutions America, commented: “More advanced features — especially on-the-go printing — that’s what our customers want. This series delivers at a price point that makes sense. Our low-volume multifunction printers have always been reliable, easy-to-use and budget-friendly. Now that we’ve added mobile printing and other advanced features, they’ve reached a whole new level.”
